François E. Clerc

François has extensive experience in leadership as well as in business foundation and management. François was a senior partner in one of the world’s largest private executive search firms. Based in Geneva, he worked at local, national and European level for a wide range of clients, from private Swiss companies to Fortune 500 multinationals. He also managed two European competence centres and was a member of the firm’s nomination committee.

François holds a master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Geneva. He began his career in international management training and development before moving into sales and marketing. He has worked in Switzerland and Europe for HP, DEC and Compaq, as well as for KPMG. In the early 90s, he was Managing Director of a Swiss luxury goods distribution company in the Asia-Pacific region, based in Hong Kong.

Since 2008, in addition to his executive search activities, he has carried out various leadership consultancy, executive training and coaching and interim management assignments in areas such as healthcare, private banking and energy.

In the medical sector, he was CEO of a leading private radiology group in Switzerland (145 employees, 20 doctors and 9 operations in 4 cantons) which was recently sold to a private equity fund.

Very active in the field of corporate governance, François was a member of the Foundation Board of the Swiss Board Institute and co-founded a company that designs and delivers courses for board members.

He speaks French, English and German. He enjoys contemporary art, theatre, literature and horse riding.
